Mr. Glover contributed to support Meiji Restoration as an importer of lots of weapons and ships in Nagasaki. He helped Choshu Five to go Britain when overseas trip was prohibited as death penalty.
One of Choshu five members, Yozo Yamao was the first Japanese who studied ship engineering in Glasgow about 150 years ago. He might be the first scotch whisky drinker of Japan, I believe. Such kind of historical nostalgia is reminded by this bottle.
