It was a tremendous night to meet Nikka’s premier bottles.
First pic is Nikka Well-Aging 17, blended, 43% ABV. It was sold from 1992-1996 when the demand of whisky was getting lower due to the bubble economy burst. But the dram is so nice in softness and cleanness of fresh malt flavors.
Second one is Miyagikyo 1989 50% ABV, one of only 1,000 bottles. It’s rich grapefruit nose can tell the basics of Miyagikyo but the relatively spicy finish defines difference of 20yo four types of vatted malt from others.
